Council was proud to congratulate the Clarington Public Library Board on being recognized for its outstanding work in the community at the Ontario Library Association (OLA) Super-Conference on January 25, 2024.

Clarington takes action on intimate partner violence

Clarington, Ontario – Clarington is implementing measures to give individuals and families affected by the epidemic of intimate partner violence (IPV) the support they need, when they need it.

The Municipality of Clarington is committed to creating a safe, diverse, inclusive, and vibrant community by supporting community safety and well-being. Council declared IPV an epidemic in 2023, but words aren’t enough: Clarington is taking action.

Tyrone Community Centre to Receive Accessibility Upgrades

Clarington, Ontario – The Tyrone Community Centre will be getting much-needed accessibility upgrades so that more members of the community can take part in local programs and activities at the facility.

The facility will be getting an accessible washroom at the front, an expanded barrier-free washroom at the back of the building, and accessible doors throughout the facility. Construction timelines are being established, and renovations are expected to be completed before December 2025.

Council Highlights from the January 29, 2024 meeting

2023 Mayor’s Golf Classic raises close to $33,000 for Marigold Hospice Care

Council presented proceeds from the 2023 Mayor’s Golf Classic to Marigold Hospice Care to help support construction and development of the site, which is anticipated to start in spring 2024. Members of the Marigold Hospice Care board were in attendance to receive the ceremonial cheque.
